BaggageEase – General Terms of Service Optional Insurance & Non-Insurance
BaggageEase
This document defines the conditions applicable to the optional insurance service offered by BaggageEase for luggage deposited, stored or transported through its approved partners. It also specifies the rules applicable when the customer chooses not to subscribe to this insurance.
1. Purpose of Optional Insurance
The optional insurance provides supplementary protection to the traveller against certain risks, including loss, confirmed theft or accidental damage occurring during the luggage storage or transport period.
2. Activation of Coverage
Coverage only comes into effect when the customer explicitly selects the insurance option at the time of booking and pays the corresponding fees.
3. Potentially Covered Items
Depending on the insurer's conditions, the insurance may provide compensation within the contractual limits and subject to the presentation of the necessary supporting documents.
4. Warranty Exclusions
Valuables such as cash, jewellery, passports, official documents, computers, phones, electronic devices, works of art, fragile items or prohibited goods may be excluded from coverage.
5. Customer Obligations
The customer must provide accurate information, not deposit prohibited items, retain their receipt and report any incident within a maximum of 24 hours after discovering the problem.
6. Claims Procedure
Any claim must be accompanied by proof of deposit, photos if available, and proof of value. Each case is examined on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the insurer's conditions.
7. Refusal of Optional Insurance
The customer may freely refuse the optional insurance. In this case, they acknowledge that the service is used at their own risk and that the liability of BaggageEase and its partners is strictly limited.
8. Limitation of Liability Without Insurance
Without insurance, no full compensation is guaranteed in the event of loss, theft or damage. Any compensation remains limited to the general terms of use and applicable legal obligations.
9. Force Majeure
BaggageEase cannot be held liable for events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, acts of vandalism, administrative decisions, strikes or other exceptional circumstances.
10. BaggageEase Security Measures
In order to secure operations, BaggageEase may photograph luggage, record drop-off and pick-up times, verify the customer's identity and refuse any non-compliant or suspicious luggage.
11. Express Acceptance
Before confirming the booking, the customer must confirm their choice regarding insurance and accept these conditions.
